Three years of work on a three-hundred-year-old ruin.
Philip and Sue spent three years carefully restoring what was a three-hundred-year-old ruin. They came from South Africa in 2012, when they retired, and have lived in Locorotondo ever since.
The result, in their own words, is a trullo that keeps its old-world charm with state-of-the-art comfort, security and privacy. Parking is secure and roomy, a few metres from the door.
Old-world character. Contemporary comfort. Nothing in between.

02 — The two suites
Two trulli, two entrances, two patios.
This is not one house split in two: they are two independent suites, each with its own entrance, its own secluded patio and its own private bathroom. Two guests each, one double bed, everything inside. The garden and the pool belong to both.

03 — The garden and the pool
A pool few places here can offer.
Around the trulli is a garden in flower: roses along the dry stone wall, irises, agaves, and the olive trees closing the horizon. In the middle, the pool: “one of the few places in the area with a pool”, as the listing puts it.
04 — Breakfast
Served on your own patio, not in a dining room.
Fruit, figs, cheeses, pastries: the listing calls it “a delicious and varied breakfast”, and it is served on your suite's own secluded patio.
